The beauty of Abigail's Cottage is not only its location but also its character. This two bedroom, family and couple friendly cottage comfortably sleeps up to six with a handy sofa bed situated in the lounge and available on request. Abigail’s enjoys a wonderful coastal location with Northam Burrows within walking distance and Westward Ho! close by for days on the beach.
Formerly a watch repair shop, the deceptively spacious cottage has been beautifully transformed to create a luxury holiday cottage with a beach theme. Stripped pine doors are used throughout Abigail's Cottage, which has been tastefully decorated in neutral tones. Large funky paintings adorn the kitchen walls and plenty of character features have been retained during the renovation, including the original fireplaces.
The light and airy cottage has the atmosphere of a holiday home in St Ives with its bright rooms and south facing courtyard terrace garden. Abigail's is the ideal retreat for couples seeking a contemporary home-away-from-home, or families looking to fall in love with the cottage's spacious rooms and excellent location.
From outside the cottage may look a little under stated, but step inside and you will soon be seeing it in a whole new light. The large living room is lovely and bright and invites visitors towards the rear of the cottage where you will find the well-equipped kitchen and dining area. Upstairs Abigail’s has two bedrooms, one double and one triple, although this room can also be a second double or a family room, an additional guest is also welcome to stay on the comfy double sofa bed located in the lounge. There are also two bathrooms, one with a refreshing shower and the other with a relaxing, vintage roll top bath.
One of the highlights of Abigail's Cottage is its raised courtyard garden. This south facing terrace is a wonderful sun trap and also the best place to enjoy alfresco dining or summer evening BBQ's.
Situated in the heart of Northam, a pretty village in North Devon, Abigail's is always only a short walk to the local shops and restaurants. A mini supermarket is just down the road, and there are plenty of places to find something to eat, including one of the most popular restaurants in the area, Memories, as well as a
traditional fish and chips shop and Chinese take away for nights in.
Abigail's is ideally located for exploring this beautiful area, whether by car, on foot or from the back of a bike. Northam Burrows, a Site of Special Scientific Interest and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is practically on your doorstep when staying at the cottage, and it is perfect for walkers with its varied terrain and spectacular coastal views. The South West Coastal
Footpath is also easily accessed.
A great way to see the unusual Burrows is by teeing off at the oldest golf course in the country, The Royal North Devon, which shares the site with local farm animals, walkers and horse riders.
